Cathleen Ardrey

Cathleen is in her 32nd year of teaching music having taught in Lancaster, Philadelphia, San Francisco, and Burbank, California.  She has taught on the elementary, middle, and high school levels, and now teaches at Millersville University (16th year).  At the University, she chairs the Music Education department, supervises student teachers, and teaches methods courses in music teaching, Class Piano, and various non-music major classes.

Before coming to Wayside, Cathleen was the music director at Bethany Presbyterian from 2009-2011.  Her education includes a BS in Music Education from Millersville University, graduate work in vocal performance at West Chester University, a Masters in Music Education with an emphasis in Kodaly from Holy Names University in Oakland California, a Doctorate of Musical Arts in Music Education from Temple University, and post-doctoral work in Dalcroze Eurhythmics at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Cathleen has done extensive performing in California and Pennsylvania in voice, piano, and guitar and has served as the chorus conductor for Opera Lancaster for numerous productions.
